John Simpson

John SimpsonBorn in 1990, John Simpson is a young, fast developing motorbike racer who has been climbing the ranks with amazing speed. Originally from Antrim, Northern Ireland, John enjoys travelling the length and breadth of the country racing the UK’s race circuits.

In 2006, John entered the Irish Clubmans Short Circuit Championships in which he was crowned the winner of the Irish Clubmans 125cc GP Newcomers class.

In 2007, he won the New Era CB500 Club Championship and took 3rd place in the New Era CB500 SuperClub Championship.

2008 was another successful year. Now riding for Trickbits Racing on a 2007 Triumph Daytona 675. Team Manager – Paul Jinks, was able to guide John and hone his raw talent even further.  John finished the year being crowned the winner of the New Era Formula 600 Club Championship. He also took 2nd place in the New Era Sound of Thunder Club Championship and finished 3rd place in the New Era Sound of Thund SuperClub Championship.

2009 was not one of John’s best years. Competing in the British Superbikes Superstock 600 Championship on a Yamaha R6, John found it hard to get to grips with the bike. For the better part of the year, John was averaging each round at around 23rd place. Then at Cadwell Park, the team threw John back on his 2007 Triumph Daytona 675, where he went on to win the round. Continuing the year on the Triumph, John finished the season in 16th place overall with 33 points.

This year, John is competing again in the British Superbikes Superstock 600 Championship. Teamed up with T3 Racing, John is riding a 2010 Triumph 675 and is working towards podium finish. However, faced with continued mechanical issues throughout the start of the season, John’s hopes for a 1st place finish has slipped away. With the Triumph’s issues now resolved and John performing at the top of his game, a podium finish is most certainly doable.
